Finished My Book And Weekend Plans

Yep I am a self confessed Harry Potter Fan...I know its for Kids but I have read all the books and am addicted as any child...I finished the book last night...I won`t spoil it for anyone though

Got a crafty weekend planned...nearly month end over at Just Bex if you have not visited you must...numerous challenges are set every week, for every challenge you complete you get a point at the end of the month the member with the most points wins a fab prize. So I am planning on catching up with all the challenges that have been set so far...watch this space.
Finally I am going to watch Hairspray on Monday Night with my 9 year old, her best friend and her Mum...can`t wait...I have not seen the original but this looks so cool and seeing John Travolta as a woman is certainly worth it!

Another two in one card

I am getting the hang of this combining card challenges, I think it is more of a challenge when you incorporate two different peoples ideas!

Over on LilyBeans Paperie...which is the most gorgeous site...Melissa posted a card recipe which was to includethe following on a card:

-Stripes

-Plaid

-A heart

-Ribbon

-A rubon

...and over on Jens site she has posted the cutest matchbook tutorial inviting people to link their own designs...so here is my card:
Patterned paper is all by K and Co, lace, ribbon, buttons and embroidery thread are all from local market, Bloom is by Papermania, "Love" rubon is a letraset alphabet, finished with a bit of inking and machine stitching.

Two in One!!!

I stumbled across a fabulous ribbon flower tutorial this morning by Rhi so I was itching to have a go, combined this with the latest sketch from Beate and hey presto a two in one challenge card!!!

Patterned Paper and clip by Making Memories, various ribbons, ric rac and lace by Making Memories and from local market, Big bloom (behind ribbon flower) is by Papermania, "Girl" stamped image is an unmounted stamp by Studio G, handwritten "a precious baby", inking and doodling to finish

Three in one!!!

I managed to combine three challenges in one for this card, firstly I have used the latest CPS card sketch, which was a really good one this week, did not manage last weeks. Have also incorporated the latest Caardvarks challenge which is titled Ravishing Ribbon and is quite simply to include ribbon on your card...I do this on most of my cards anyway so liked this challenge. Lastly I doodled the border around the flower and stamped sentiment incorporating the latest challenge over at Technique Thursday which was to include doodling on your card.

Yummy patterned papers are Basic Grey and DCWV, pink grosgrain and satin ribbon, bit of lace and a button, Prima flowers and Making memories clip and brad, "Thanks so Much" stamp is an unmounted one by Studio G, bit of inking and doodling to finish.

OOOH ARRRR Me Hearties

Over on Bex`s forum the lovely Sue set a TV or film inspired scrapbooking challenge.

Mia had a Pirate Party at school on Monday so I bought her a Jack Sparrow Pirates of the Carribean costume to wear.
This is the page Titled "Little Treasure"

Black cardstock is from stash, Patterned Paper is by Fancy Pants, map was found using trusty google images, the big skull in the top left was a Pirates of the Carribean phone charm from Claires that I took apart (this actually opens and there is a little piccy of Jack Sparrow), the other part of this is the little "Pirates of the Carribean" charm at the bottom. The other skull was from an earring also from Claires, red ribbon and ric rac from local market, Buttons from stash, brads by Making Memories, Handmade "treasure map", plenty of inking, journalling and doodling to finish.

Second Card Challenge

The second card challenge I have completed this weekend is a sketch by Susie who also has a fab blog.

This is what I came up with:
Used what was left over of the DCWV patterned paper and Papermania card, Prima flowers, making memories brads, bit of lace, Autumn Leaves "All Girl" stamp and lots of inking and doodling.

Over on Bex Forum the lovely Sue set a challenge:

Haberdashery!!!

Funnily enough I am a regular at my local haberdashery stall in my local market and the friday challenge over at DCM set by Gillian is:

Your card can be any theme you like, just as long as it's got something you'd find in a Haberdashery Department on it
Alright then, grab that old sewing basket of yours or raid your sewing machine drawer, have a look at what creative bits are hidding away there....maybe it's buttons, a zip, hook & eye's, ribbons, braids, Dressmaking patterns, tape measures,Pins & Needles, lace, safety pins or embroidery thread....

Patterned paper is all by K and Co
Ribbon, lace, buttons and embroidery thread are all from my local Haberdashery market stall

However the weather is so dismal it already feels like winter so I spent today at work designing some cards for Christmas workshops...here is a sneaky peeky:

So far everything is a prototype, and I am going to work further on these to create very funky christmas cards.

Just Bex Song Title Scrapbook Page

One of the challenges over on the Just Bex forum is to complete a scrapbook page incorporating a song title

I chose Pieces Of You, by Jewel as my song title, you can listen to it here

It wasn`t the words of the song that were especially important more the title as I had taken lots of pictures of different parts of Mia...Her feet, hands, ears eyes and so on. So I thought the title summed up the Layout.

The picture of Mias feet is actually a little book that opens and contains all the other little pictures of the "Pieces of Mia"

All the patterned paper is by K and Co.

Found this over on the fantabulous Kirsty Wiseman blog, where she has invited people to take part.

My roommate and I once: I have never had a roomie:(
Never in my life have I: Had my own passport, I have only been abroad once when I was nine and I was on my Mummies passport then!!!
High school was: The pits, horrible people none of whom I have kept in touch with...very strange teachers and an awful green uniform!!! It has taken me over 15 years to be able to wear green again;)
When I'm nervous: I pee...a lot
My hair: Grows huge in the rain and never stays straight no matter how much product I use!
When I was 5 : I cut my Brothers hair for him! not only has he NEVER forgiven me I was not allowed to use a pair of scissors again until I was about 16!!!
When I turn my head left : I can see into the kitchen and more importantly...the kettle!
I should be: Upstairs cutting my daughters toenail (i promise to do it as soon as I finish this)
By this time next year : I want to have passed my driving test I am sick of waiting for buses.
My favorite aunt is : Two actually and they both live in Bude in Cornwall so I am hoping for a free holiday ...soon;)
I have a hard time understanding : Why good people have to suffer
You know I like you if: I don`t glaze over when you are talking!!!
My ideal breakfast is: Terribly unhealthy but a huge mug of coffee and a cigarette in peace before my four little angels awaken!
If you spend the night at my house: You will get a chilled glass of Chardonnay and join me crafting, sleep on the couch and probably get rudely awakened by four kids arguing over the telly in the morning!
My favorite blonde is: Mia my little baby girl...well she is 6 but she is still my baby and Jack my little baby boy...well he is 14 really and would shudder at the thought of me calling him that!
My favorite brunette is: Ella-Rose my 9 (going on 16) year old
The animal I would like to see flying besides birds: am I allowed to say me, coz then I would not have to stand around waiting for buses all the time!
I shouldn't have been : Married at 20 and divorced at 23!!!
Last night I: Completed two scrap book pages and finished the fabulous Jodi Picould book My sisters keeper.
I've been told I look like: A princess...bless 6 year olds
If I could have any car, it would be: Mine...Chauffeur driven...with a mini bar and scrappin stash!!!

wow TFL

Scrapbooking the generations

Had a little "play" last night for a challenge over on just Bex.

The challenge was to create some page layouts using products from Scrapbook Castle for them to use in their online gallery.

So created a page layout of Mia who happens to be the youngest of the Gundry Family at 6 and a layout of my Nan, who passed away two years ago, who was the oldest member of the Gundry family at 92.

Patterned paper is a selection of the Making Memories Brooke range, giant bloom is also by Making Memories, ribbon, button, embroidery thread and ric rac is from local market, "Bloom" has been cut using the cuttlebug baby face alphabet, journalling, doodling and inking to finish

Patterned paper is the new Roam range by K and Co, lace, button and embroidery thread and ribbon from local market, die cut photo anchors, making memories brads, prima flower, Nan was cut with the fancy pants cuttlebug alphabet and journalling, inking and doodling to finish.

Enjoyed the diversity of completing these two pages in one evening, although doing the layout of my Nan did bring a small lump to my throat I still miss her not being with us but I adore this photo and she was beautiful, both inside and out, and although I maybe a little bit biased Mia looks just as beautiful in this perfect (staged) photo.
