Tooth Tales

Completed another layout last night, must be on a scrapping roll;-)

This is of Ella and I in 2003, when Ella was 5 I discovered that she had an extra tooth growing behind her two front teeth, visit to the dentist resulted in her having to go to Whiston hospital to have it removed, unfortunately they had to take out her two front teeth, luckily they were baby teeth, to get to it, this was at the beginning of November so until Christmas that year we were singing "All I want for Cwistmath ith my two fwont teeth" Complete with Lithp!!!
The Scan is showing this as a horrid green but it is actually a really nice lime green!!!

Couldn`t Sleep Last Night!!!

Yep the dreaded Insomnia seems to have returned so rather than listening to dearest OH quietly slumbering in his dreamfilled state!!!! I went downstairs and played about with a layout.

I had been sorting through some magazines the other day, from 2006 I think, and I found this gorgeous layout by Kirsty Wiseman in my favourite colour combo, so I cut it out for future reference...
...anyway after a play around and using Kirsty`s layout as inspiration I came up with this, which hasn`t scanned too well because of the big buttons on it! But it is one of very few pictures I have of Mia and I together when she was a baby, can you tell it is usually me behind the camera!!!

Had a bit of a tidy up

On the blog!!!

Had a bit of a general update too, hope it is more pleasing on the eye ;) xxx

Take a look at these little beauties...

Had these frames made to order to display my scrapbook pages...on the wall!!!

Luckily I work in an Arts and Crafts store and the very Talented Mr Mike Allen, who owns the shop, made these for me to my exact specifications...isn`t he grand. I am so pleased with them and they look great on the wall and I love the fact that I can change the layouts in them too.
If you would like to make an inquiry about frames for your pages this is the link with all the contact information.

A Couple of Layouts to share

Have done a bit of scrapbooing lately, not done any for quite a while so it was nice to get back into it, I had some gorgeous new papers but I couldn`t bear to cut into them just yet!

Had a lookie throu some of my papers though and have decided that scrapbook papers are a bit like fashion, what is in one minute is out the next...there are some in my stash that I must have thought were gorgeous at the time but now look just hidious...I am going to try to use them though but when there are so many nice new papers around to stroke..............hmm............
Here are some layouts I have completed recently:

Football Life

Girl about Town
Mia on the train on the way back from the craft show at Aintree.

Aintree

I spent a rather nice day in Liverpool today at the craft show hosted at Aintree Race course...have spent a small fortune but there was so much in the way of gorgeousness that just had to come home with me...although was a little miffed that a cup of coffee cost me £2.50...it wasn`t even that great!!!

Bought some of the scrummy new making memories papers, some gorgeous beads, loads of ribbons and a fabulous book that I just HAD to have...I want my whole house to look like the pictures in this book...just have to get out my fabrics, needles and thread and the sewing machine.

I will leave you with these piccies of the fabulous knitted house and garden, the photographs really do not do this justice at all, it was absolutely superb, the attention to detail was amazing and everything in the pictures was knitted. Sorry for the poor quality but the lighting was terrible.

I have been busy...

Scanning some of my work into the computer, getting it all hosted and linking it all to the right...

It is amazing how many layouts and cards I have created, I actually spent most of the weekend at the scanner!!!

Itt was lovely though looking, especially at all the scrapbook pages, all those memories...my kids are growing up so fast so it is lovely to be able to document them in this lovely hobby of mine.

There are also links to some of my cards and a couple of pieces of jewellery too, more will be added as soon as I get the camera out on a nice sunny day!

Will leave you with a particularly nice picture taken of Mia this morning whilst she was doing her homework...yes this morning!!! Dressed up for fancy dress day at school as a little witch...please mummy tie some of your lovely ribbon in my hair!!!

Not such a good Blogger but I found my MOJO

...twas lurking in the bottom of a drawer next to a pile of scrapbooking papers, a book and some very dusty chalks...have put it back in its rightful place and created some clay critters tonight. I have not worked with clay for a while and it made a nice change, used the air dry stuff so have to wait for it all to dry out then I am going to paint them, so far have created a little frog, a bunny obviously for easter and a turtle...I am going to teach this next week too as clay is such fun...will post the piccies of my little critters tomorrow or Thursday when they are adorned with beautiful colour.

Not really completed much else, I am working on a mini acetate book, scrapped a couple of pages and made some jewellery, none of which I have photographed yet as the weather has been just terribl so getting a decent picture is out of the question...I must catch up with all the challenges especially 365 as I am about 10 days behind on that...there is always the weekend!!!

Ooh I did start sorting my scrapbooks out the other day, I am planning on a scrapbook for each year...hope that works out...so have put all the pages in their corresponding scrapbooks, that took me some time I can tell you. I did not realise I had so many pages completed, I did however find a couple of pages that I am going to RE scrap as they look pretty basic.

Found out also yesterday after big fat panic that I don`t have to complete my self assessment until May because I only became self employed in June last year...nobody told me this until I had spent an hour going through paperwork and online...in the end phoned the helpline...arghhh...I could have spent that hour scrapping.

Hope everyone is well and not flooded too badly, we have had respite from the downpours today but it has been extra cold. xxx

365 Prompt 14

Wow fourteen prompts already that is totally amazing...not so much the amount but the fact that I am keeping up with them!

Todays prompt:

"Attempt the impossible in order to improve your work.”
Bette Davis

So this was just totally relevant to me today and the timing was so uncanny, Monday is my day off work and I spent this morning taking photographs of my jewellery and uploading some designs into a shop...see link on the right...I have wanted to sell my jewellery for a while now but have never really done anything about it...So I have improved my work by taking a big step...for me anyway.

DCM Friday Dare...Me and my shadow!!!

The Friday Dare over on DCM was titled me and my shadow...this is what Jane had to say:

I want you to create not just one but TWO cards ! But wait........there's more ! I want both cards to contain the same embellishments and papers, ribbons etc- but arranged in a different way for a different occasion....the only thing being different is the wording....I'll let you have different wording ! (How nice of me eh?) I'm well aware this is a really hard challenge, and that I have thrown everyone into 2008 off the deep end....but go on- give it a go - I DARE YOU !

This Dare gave me some trouble let me tell you, I have already discarded two cards because I thought they were just pants...Luckily for me I found some scrummy Basic Grey Blush at the bottom of my stash and came up with these two cards:

Card one..for a new baby girl:

and Card two...a thank you:
